Alberto Perez III

Alberto Perez III, lovingly known as "Dido," passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 50.

Alberto was born on March 4, 1976, in Tulia, Texas, to Sarah Salazar Perez and the late Alberto Aranda Perez Jr.

Dido had a way of making the things he loved part of who he was. Music was woven into his life, especially through his guitar, and his creativity also found its way into the time he spent drawing and painting. His love of Star Wars ran just as deep, beginning in childhood and lasting throughout his life. These were more than passing interests. They were simply part of Dido, and they are some of the things that will always bring him to mind.

Dido is survived by his mother, Sarah Salazar Perez, and his children: Alyssendra Jeanette Perez; Sofia Janelle Perez, whom he had the special privilege of raising as a single father; Alberto Perez IV ("Quatro"); and Alanna Jessica Yancey, along with his son-in-law, Greg Yancey.

He was a loving Buelo, or "Welo," to Aaliyah Yancey, Janelle Yancey, Skylar Yancey, and Yari Yancey. The time they shared with their Welo and the love he had for them will remain a part of their lives and of the stories they tell about him.

Dido is also survived by his sisters: Elizabeth "Dida" Perez, Delta Jeanette Perez, and Sarah Janelle "Kissy" Perez.

As the only son and brother among three sisters, Dido had a place in his family that was entirely his own. His mother and sisters spoiled him endlessly, and there was very little they would not do for him. To his sisters, he was their only brother and an irreplaceable part of their lives. To his nieces and nephews, he was lovingly known as the brat of the family, bringing with him plenty of laughter, annoyance, and memories.

Dido and his baby sister, Kissy, shared a closeness that was uniquely theirs. No matter how old they became, she would always be his baby sister. The bond between them meant something that was theirs alone, and she will carry a lifetime of memories of her brother with her.

He is also survived by his nieces, Sarina Granados ("Sarini") and Breanna Salazar ("Breezy"); his great-niece, Thalia Aguilar ("Bings"); and his nephews, Carmen Morales, Christopher Morales, Lorenzo Alberto Perez ("Lencho"), Romeo Perez, Anthony Morales ("T-Bird"), Samuel Lopez-Perez ("Sambone"), and Arturo Jasso Jr. ("Chungster").

His nieces and nephews adored their uncle and shared a close and loving relationship with him. Dido had his own names for many of them, nicknames that belonged only to him and the person he gave them to. These names are small pieces of those relationships that his family will always remember hearing in his voice.

Dido was preceded in death by his beloved son, Christopher Allen Perez, and his father, Alberto Aranda Perez Jr.

Christopher's passing was a loss Dido carried with him throughout his life. The love between father and son remained, even in Christopher's absence. We find comfort in believing that they are together again, reunited in peace.

To his children, he will always be Dad. To his grandchildren, he will always be Welo. To his sisters, he will always be their only brother, the one they loved, looked after, laughed with, and spoiled. To his nieces and nephews, he will always be the uncle they loved and the source of so many stories and memories. And to his mother, he will forever be her papa.

Those who loved Dido will remember not only the big things but also the small unmistakable pieces of him: the sound of his guitar, his drawings and paintings, his love of Star Wars, his humor, his stories, the names he gave the people he loved, and all of the ordinary moments that now mean so much more.

The place Dido held in his family cannot be replaced. What remains is the love he gave, the relationships that were uniquely his, and a lifetime of memories that belong to the people who knew him best.

Rest peacefully, Dido. May you now be reunited with your beloved son Christopher and your father, and may you watch over the family you loved so dearly.

There will be a funeral to celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

Albert will be laid to rest at Plano Mutual Cemetery, Plano, Texas.
