On Sunday January 22, 2023, at 8:50 PM, MGySGT Albert Aguirre a beloved father and grandfather, peacefully passed away. He was 75.
Born on July 28,1947 in San Antonio, TX to Fred and Hermelinda (Sifuentes) Aguirre. Albert was raised by his grandmother Eulalia Sifuentes after they formed an inseparable and lifelong bond. He had a very happy childhood in much simpler times where he would spend hours sitting on his front porch, climbing trees, splashing in puddles, catching fireflies, riding bikes, and shooting BB guns. Albert met his best friends Freddy Vasquez and Pete at the age of 5 and they remained close their whole lives. He graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1966.
At the age of 19 he enlisted in The Marine Corps, fighting in the Vietnam War where he served a total of 3 tours before returning stateside and finishing out his 30-year career as a distinguished recruiter. He earned 3 Navy Achievement Medals as well as a Meritorious Service Medal it recognizes exceptional service and is the military's highest joint service decoration and the highest non-combat award. He retired as an E-9 Master Gunnery Sergeant (MGySgt) the 9th and highest enlisted rank in the United States Marine Corps.
Albert was a car enthusiast from the time he purchased his first Chevrolet Camaro in 1966, developing a great appreciation for speed, performance and craftsmanship. He was an animal lover, rescuing and adopting many and making them a part of his family. He generously made regular donations to the Humane Society as well as Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary; believing all animals were deserving of love, kindness, and full bellies. He loved music, especially Rock N’ Rock often listening to artists like The Rolling Stones, Roy Orbison, Elvis, Patsy Cline, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan. And each time reminding us each time that these were “classics”. Though Albert enjoyed many things, his greatest joy of all was his family and the immense love he had for his grandchildren Trinity Klein and Bryson Jackson. From birth to birthday parties and every occasion in between the one familiar face in a crowd was their Tata. When he would come over the children didn’t know him as a tough as nails, highly decorated, courageous Marine; instead, he was their goofy and playful Tata that would crack jokes and make funny faces and even occasionally attempt to floss.
He is survived by his sister Stella Guerrero, the mother of his children Norma Aguirre, and his daughters, Amy A. Klein and Victoria Jackson.
He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. We would love you to come and honor his life.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Albert’s life at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Dallas, Texas.
