With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, aunt and grandmother. Agnes Romanelli Schuller, who left us on March 23, 2025. She passed away in her sleep, at the age of 91. She went to be with the Lord peacefully, at home, and surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with arrhythmia, stage four arthritis and vascular dementia.
Agnes was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for the steadfast love she had for her family and friends.
Agnes was born at home in 1934 and grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. She helped her parents, Martino and Maria Romanelli, and older brother, Pat, with the family business.
After high school, Agnes attended SUNY New Paltz, where she earned a master’s degree in education. She then started her teaching career and spent thirty-two years in special education classrooms. Agnes also found the time to volunteer as a Girl Scout leader for ten years!
Agnes was a dedicated wife and mother, not only raising her four girls, but also loving and caring for neighborhood children and friends.
Even though she worked full time, she always had a homemade dinner ready every night.
Agnes will be deeply missed by her -family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Agnes is survived by her four daughters, Debbie, Donna, Amy and Lisa and sons-in-law, Jim and Rick. Her steadfast love lives on in her nephews, Marty and Paul as well as their families. Her legacy also lives on in her grandchildren, John, Zachary, Emily, Benjamin and Joseph. She was greeted at the gate of heaven by her loving, faithful husband of forty-three years, John Schuller, her brother, Pasquale Romanelli, her nephews, John and Joseph Romanelli, and her son-in-law, Don Civitella.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., March 26, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that glory and thanksgiving be given to God Almighty and donations be made to Heifer International at: https://www.heifer.org/
1 Corinthians 5:7-9
For we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.
Luke 23:43
