Adelina Vazquez Bañuelos went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 30, 2023. She was born on March 22, 1933, in Zacatecas Mexico to Juan Bañuelos and Santos Nuñez. Adelina’s early years on the farm were the foundation for a life full of resilience and hard work. Growing up surrounded by the love of the land and having a passion for horses shaped her character in profound ways. It’s touching to imagine her as a young child, eager to contribute to her family’s livelihood through meaningful chores.
The love story of Adelina and her husband Diego is truly heartwarming. To spend 65 years together is a testament to a deep and enduring connection. Their union was characterized by selfless devotion and mutual support. Diego was always Adelina’s biggest advocate and the provider for the family speaks volumes about the strength of their partnership. Raising six children was no small feat. The sense of unity and the support they provided for each other undoubtedly played a crucial role in their family’s success and happiness.
Adelina was a stay home mom who also at times executed her entrepreneurship skills. In different times in her life, she had her own business providing American products to locals in town. She also had a seasonal food truck that provided unique Mexican cuisine during busy harvest seasons. Such business profits contributed to the house of their dreams. She was a hard worker and continuously found ways to support her husband in their financial endeavors, while still managing her household. Her attention to her appearance and love for elegance, from charming hair and makeup to unique jewelry, paints a vivid picture of a woman who took pride in herself. She brought her sense of beauty to every aspect of her life.
Adelina’s deep faith, connection to the teachings of Jesus Christ portray a picture of a woman whose spirituality was at the core of her being. Adelina is survived by her husband, Diego Vazquez; and her children Aurelio de la Torre, Alicia de la Torre, Olga Stecker, and Jaqueline McHale. Her daughters-in-law Lupita San Roman, Sylvia Lara, and Gloria de la Torre; and her son-in-law Tim Stecker.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, all her siblings, as well as her son, Javier Rogelio Vazquez, and her daughter Elizabeth de la Torre.
