Adam Wade Ley age 60 of Allen, Texas passed away on the morning of May 21, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children, succumbing to a three-year struggle with brain cancer. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents Charley and Reva Ley on August 16, 1964.
He went to high school at Putnam City West High School and graduated in 1982. He attended college at Oklahoma State University where he completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Adam met his wife Rosalina (Laly) while they were both working as engineers for Texas Instruments, where Adam would work for over a decade. Adam and Laly married in Dennison, Texas on February 29, 1992. Together they moved to McKinney, Texas in 1993, where they raised their four children, who all graduated high school there.
The longest and foremost appointment of Adam’s passionate career as an electrical engineer was for Asset InterTech where he worked for more than twenty years, and for much of which provided the role of Vice President and Chief Technologist. His contributions in the realm of test technology standards (especially boundary-scan, a non-intrusive board testing methodology) were recognized by the IEEE Standards Association with an IEEE SA Standards Medallion in 2022.
Adam loved his family and took an active role in the lives and enrichment of his four children. He took on roles as pack and troop scout master multiple times while his children participated in McKinney’s Troop 531 of the Boy Scouts of America. With his support and encouragement, all four of his children achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He also volunteered his time with the McKinney Boyd HS marching band, of which his children were a part.
A devoted husband and son-in-law, Adam supported and assisted for over a decade in the caregiving of his elderly parents-in-law, Fabio and Rosalina Morales, alongside his wife Laly.
An avid reader in childhood, Adam instilled a love of reading in his children and loved reading aloud to them for many years. Among his other hobbies and interests, he was a proud fan of OSU sports of all kinds, both men’s and women’s. He could be reliably found on weekends in his living room cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Cowgirls.
All those who met Adam knew him to be respectful, kind, and accepting of people from all walks of life. He always stood for the public welfare and rights of the marginalized. He believed especially in social justice for women, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+. Voting was a civic duty he held in great reverence. He was a servant to others in life.
Adam is survived by his wife, Laly, of Allen; daughter Andrea Ley and partner Chessai of Vancouver, Washington; son Magadhari Das of the Rupanuga Vedic College of Kansas City, a branch of ISKCon; son Esteban Ley of Plano and partner Christy Yu of Wenzhou; son Diego and wife Ashley Ley of Plano; mother Reva Ley of Bethany, Oklahoma; brother Grant and wife Michelle Ley of Eden, Utah; brother Bede and wife Polly Ley of Mustang, Oklahoma; his uncle and aunt Bob and Rita Caldwell of Knoxville, Tennessee; his cousin Charles Maloney of Norman, Oklahoma; his lifetime friend Philip Morgan and wife Ronda of Bethany, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; beloved in-laws and friends.
