A Life Remembered..
Clarence Norwyn Williams was born on February 8, 1936 in Casey, Iowa to Donald and Wyona (Floyd) Williams. He died December 23, 2010, of brain cancer at home with his family at his bedside.
Norwyn attended grade school and high school in Casey, Iowa where he played football, baseball and basketball. He graduated in 1956. He joined the United States Army and served in Korea from 1956 to 1958. Upon his release, he enrolled at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa until he accepted a position with Commercial Credit Equipment Corporation. Norwyn was employed by them through various mergers with Control Data, Bank of New England, McCullagh Leasing and finally GE Capital Fleet Services. He retired from GE in 2001. Norwyn loved hunting, fishing and Nebraska football.
In 1960, Norwyn Married Mary Jean Talty at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning, Iowa. They made their home in Urbandale, Iowa and later moved to West Des Moines, Omaha, NE., Dallas, TX, Minneapolis, MN and Chicago, IL. They returned to Dallas in 1986 where Norwyn retired. Their children are Thomas, Steven, Michael and Kristin.
Norwyn is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Jean Williams of Plano, three sons, Thomas (Charlene) Williams of St. Michael, MN., Steven Williams of Plano, TX., Michael (Amy) Williams of Flower Mound, TX., Kristin (Chris) Glasscock of Plano, TX.; four grandsons, Dylan and Matthew Williams of St. Michael, MN., Brandon Williams of Flower Mound and Caden Glasscock of Plano; three granddaughters, Cassie Williams of MN, Emily Williams of Flower Mound and Grace Glasscock of Plano; his parents, Donald and Wyona Williams of Casey, a brother, Dean (Phyllis) Williams of Stuart, IA; a sister, Darlene (Ken) Eggerss of Avoca, IA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A mass will be celebrated to honor Norwyn's life on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX. 75023. Norwyn will be laid to rest at the columbarium at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. A reception will follow the service in the Parrish Hall.
