Frances Mary Vido was born January 29, 1915 in Perth Amboy City, New Jersey to parents Anthony and Maryanna Dabrowiecki and on Saturday, January 22, 2011 she passed away in Plano, Texas.

Fran's favorite activities while growing up were attending baseball games and going to dances with her girlfriends. She met her husband Adalbert (Bill) Vido at one of those dances. Bill was from Staten Island, New York and after their marriage on May 1, 1938 they made their home in Tottenville, Staten Island, New York. They were married 58 years when Bill passed away.

Frances worked at the Vaseline factory in Perth Amboy before and after she married. She devoted much of her time to participating in the Rosary and Altar Society at Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church in Tootenville.

She was an avid baseball fan of the New York Yankees and especially liked Derek Jeter.

In her later years Fran worked at the Nassau Smelting & Refining Co. (AT&T then Lucent) for eight years until she retired.

Fran moved to Plano, Texas when she was 90 years old. She joined the Big D Re-Gals Red Hat Society in 2005. She was also lovingly known as Francie Schmanzie! (Her Red Hat name) She enjoyed the camaraderie that participating in the Red hat events created.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother John and 7 sisters Josephine, Pauline, Stella, Sophie, Katherine, Mame and Mary. She is survived by her only child Arlene Clark and her husband James, grandsons Christopher Clark, Donald Clark and David Clark, great grandson Kyle and great granddaughter Lilly and a host of nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Florida and Arizona.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation. There will be a reception in the Parrish hall after the mass.
