Mary Patricia Rogers was born on August 22, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas. She was the sixth child born into a family of ten children and later two step siblings. She graduated from W.T. White High School in Dallas, Texas and graduated from college with a nursing degree.
We celebrate the life of Patricia because she was known by all of us as a person with a very tender heart. This was demonstrated in her life in many ways, especially as a wife and mother, a daughter, sister and aunt. Her lifelong friends can attest to this fact, too. It was very fitting for her to choose the nursing profession where her gifts and intelligence were put to good use. Because of her tender heart and compassionate ways, we sisters and our mother sometimes affectionately called her "Patricia the Precious". She had a gift of loving babies and this was showered upon all of her nieces and nephews.
Patricia was very fun- loving. She often was the moving force behind our large family get-togethers. We were all blessed by her hospitality. As a fun-loving person, she enjoyed travel, especially cruises. She enjoyed reading and relaxing by her pool. Most of all she enjoyed her family more than anything.
In more recent years, she has become a proud military mom with two sons in the military. She has been committed to praying for them and supporting them in their decisions to serve our country.
She has enjoyed almost 27 years of marriage to her loving and devoted husband David who will miss her very much.
Most of all Patricia had a love for God and a faith in Him that was obvious in many ways. She is a person who left a deep mark on all of our hearts in her short years on this earth and we will miss her very, very much.
Patricia was preceded in death by her Father, Thomas Michael O'Brien, her daughter Melissa Rogers, her sisters, Mary Elizabeth O'Brien and Mary Angela Juengerman and her brother James Keenen O'Brien. She is survived by her husband David Rogers, her sons Matthew Rogers and Benjamin Rogers, her mother Linda Hensel and stepfather Ermie Hensel, her brothers Thomas O'Brien, Kevin O'Brien, Paul O'Brien and stepbrother Steve Hensel, her sisters, Ellen Tillman, Kathleen Nichols, Jennifer Halm and her stepsister Karen Dennis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at McKinney Bible Church, 501 S. Graves McKinney, Texas 75069. Patricia will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.
