Lois Kennedy Powell Myatt, 88 passed away after a long illness, August 22, 2010 at her home in Plano, Texas. She was born February 20, 1922, in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late William Alexander Kennedy and Nora Jane Kennedy. Lois was a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She lived in Texas for over 50 years and has many of her family members living in the Dallas area.

She committed her life to her family. She was always there to lend her expertise to anyone who needed it. She was the consummate hostess. She will be remembered for using her talents for the many weddings, birthdays and special occasions for her family and friends - she could create almost anything that was required - from beautiful flower arrangements, to cakes, the food and perfectly appointed table settings.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, B.T. Myatt of Marshall, Arkansas, daughters Karen Powell Harvey (Mike) of Fairhope, Alabama, Marilyn Myatt Kroc of Chicago, Illinois, Elaine Powell Schneider (Matt) of Richardson, Texas, Kristy Myatt McDonald (Greg) of Frisco, Texas, daughter in law Susan Powell of Birmingham, Alabama, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sister Jo Ella Kennedy Gill (Eric), brother James "Bud" Kennedy, both of Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her only son, Phillip Jerome Powell, two brothers and four sisters.

Her beautiful smile will be missed by all.

The family will greet friends at a visitation from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Funeral services to honor Lois' life will be held at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd., Plano, Texas 75023 at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010, Pastor Ed Fleming officiating. Lois will be laid to rest following the funeral service at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
