Patrick D. Lynch was born on September 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Francis J. and Ethel L. Lynch. He graduated from Austin Catholic Preparatory High School in Detroit, obtained his bachelor's degree from St. Bernard's College in Cullman, Alabama and earned his MBA from The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Patrick has remained a loyal and proud Crimson Tide fan.
Patrick married the love of his life, Karen Marie Miller on October 5, 1974 and they enjoyed 35 wonderful years together. Patrick's professional life was spent as an executive in the travel and incentive industry. He enjoyed this work so much, he devoted his entire adult life to it. He traveled extensively throughout the world both for his job and with his family in his leisure time. The Lynch's called numerous places "home" over the course of their life together. They lived in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Dayton, Ohio, Falls Church, Virginia, Troy, Michigan, St. Louis, Missouri, Plano, Texas and Frisco, Texas.
Hobbies of Patrick's included golf, exercising, racquetball, poker, coaching soccer, refereeing, and he was an avid reader. He was also a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Junior Achievement and the Knights of Columbus. Patrick also served our country as a member of the United States Army Reserves.
Patrick left this earth on May 27, 2010 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by brothers Jeremiah and Duane Lynch. Surviving are his wife Karen, sons Bret Miller Lynch and David Pennington Lynch, his fiancé Stephanie, brother Colonel Michael Lynch and wife Jeanie, sisters Mary Ann Downes and husband John, and Susie Craft and aunt Frances Wieczorek.
A prayer vigil will be held on Tuesday June 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Pkwy. in Plano. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 2, 2010, also at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with The Reverend Monsignor Henry V. Petter, celebrant. All are welcome to join the family in a reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the mass.
