Courtney Lynn Hill was born and raised in Plano, Texas. She was the third child of 4 girls. She comes from a BIG family of 3 Aunts, 5 Uncles and nearly 30 first Cousins. She was diagnosed at birth with Cystic Fibrosis. She survived 26 years and went Home to our Lord Jesus hand in hand with our Daddy on Tuesday. Courtney attended Plano East Senior High School and graduated in 2001 where she was active in the Jr. ROTC.
Courtney was a child of God, and her livelihood was to love, play, and watch over children. Her life long dream was to have her own Day Care School, and she attended some college to pursue that dream. Unfortunately, with this harsh disease that dream was cut short due to her weakened immune system. It was suggested that working around children with her susceptibility to infection would diminish her life expectancy. However, that would not stop Courtney from watching children. She had several nanny positions, but in her last job she called these children her own. Alyssa and Tate had a special place in her heart. She adored her nieces and nephews as if they were her own too. She had "The Kids" (Kaden and Shaffer), "The Boys" (David and Daniel), "The Baby" (Cammie) and "My Kids" (Alyssa and Tate).
Courtney always lived her life to the fullest and never held back from places she wanted to go. She took a trip to Europe by herself for two weeks, and on a cruise to Mexico she swam with dolphins; just a couple examples of her adventurous side. Courtney had a beautiful free spirit and one who was easily admired. Not only did she have several life long friends from going to school in Plano, but she also had many, many online friends, "Cysters" and "Fribros" from several Cystic Fibrosis forums. Her unwavering love for God was shown and was a true testament until the day she died. We are so proud of the pure way she lived her life. Courtney was preceded in death by her father, Ron Hill, paternal grandparents, Wendell and Leta Hill (Muzzie & Popsy), maternal grandfather, James Shea (Pop). She is survived by mother, Dottie Hill and her fiancé Bruce Cope, sisters, Megan Thomas and her husband Scotty, Kelly Bergthold and her husband Marty, Lindsay Stonebraker and her husband Chapin, nieces and nephews, Kaden and Shaffer Thomas, David and Daniel Bergthold and Camryn Stonebraker, grandmother, Joan Shea (Nanny). Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of precious friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation at Allen Family Funeral Options on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Courtney's life on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy, Plano, Texas 75023. It was Courtney's request that rather than sending flowers she would like for donations to be made to http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/MeganThomas5889. Courtney has also requested for there not to be black worn at the service. She would love to see her favorite colors: Green & Pink!
