James Lonnie Gray

July 18, 1934 — June 22, 2010

James Lonnie Gray passed away at his home in Plano, Texas, on June 22, 2010, at the age of 75. In addition to his wife, Ruth Smith Gray, with whom he recently celebrated fifty years of marriage, he is survived by a son, James Keith Gray of Fort Worth, Texas, and a daughter, Joy Gray Hatchett of Plano, Texas. He was also the devoted "Poppy" to two grandchildren, Heather Lynne Hatchett and Robert James Hatchett, both of Plano.

A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Jim graduated from Bolton High School and Louisiana College, and was retired from Aetna Life & Casualty. A lifelong sports fan, he enjoyed playing and coaching baseball in earlier years, and more recently, enthusiastically following the Rangers, Cowboys, and Mavericks, as well as his grandkids' many teams. He was also a military history buff and enjoyed genealogy and photography.

He will be greatly missed as a loving and faithful father, grandfather, and husband. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Hunter's Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas 75023

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hunter's Glen Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
