H. Michael "Mike" Gleason was born August 19, 1940 in Albion, New York to parents Harland Gleason and Sadie Campito Gleason. Mike married his high school sweetheart Jean Wyant on February 11, 1961. Mike was a self made man and successful entrepreneur. He is the founding partner of the HMG Capital Advisory Group. As Chief Executive Officer and President, Mike had the primary responsibility for the strategic direction and marketing focus while utilizing his broad operating experience and visionary expertise. He was an operating partner for Berhman Capital, a multi-billion dollar Private Equity firm. He has had extensive executive management and organizational experience in the Information Technology, Homecare Consulting and Business Services Industries. Mr. Gleason was also the founding partner of two other Professional Services firms in the southwest. He was Group Executive/Corporate Vice President of the Global Management Consulting Services Group of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Corporation. He has served on the Board of Directors of Association of Management Consulting firms (ACME), APICS, the Sales and Marketing Executives of New York, AT Kearney, Condor Data Systems, HMG Consulting, ACS DataLine, Greater Yield Ltd., TenanTools.com, Pearson Partners International and HMG Capital Advisory Group Conference Board. Mike served on the College Advisory Boards of Babson College, Rollins University, Boston University and Columbia University. Mike was a much sought after speaker, and among others, addressed students at MIT, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Rollins University, Boston University, Babson College, Brown University, Penn State University and The University of Texas. While Mike's accomplishments in business were many, one of the more proud titles he held was that of devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Bompy". Mike loved the out of doors and was an avid hunter and environmentalist. Mike enjoyed traveling, gardening and mentoring to many others. He was a strong man physically and in his thoughts and beliefs. Mike found great joy in seeing others become successful. Mike left this life and this world a much better place because of his many contributions. Mike was preceded in death by his only son, Glenn and granddaughter Skyler Gleason. He is survived by his loving wife Jean, daughter Kelley Everetts, her husband Les and their daughter Rebecca, daughter in law Amy Gleason and her children Samantha, Chase and Colby, his mother Sadie Gleason, sister Helene Calleri, brother Ronald Gleason and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service honoring Mike's life will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. Spring Creek Pkwy., Plano, Texas 75074 with Pastor Alice Coder officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
