Wayne E. Cloninger was born on March 24, 1965 in Ozark, Arkansas to parents Edward Earl and Edna Mae Cloninger. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1983, attended college and then joined the United States Navy. Prior to moving to Texas, Wayne lived in a variety of places, with California and Hawaii being his favorites. Wayne possessed strong computer skills and loved to play strategic or logistical games and was talented at solving puzzles. Wayne married Elaine Arnold on June 9, 2007 and enjoyed time with family, friends and his work. Travelling, sightseeing and having new adventures and experiences were all dear to Wayne. He was also a member of Tall Texans of Dallas. Wayne passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Plano, Texas on October 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by his sister Edna Earl Cloninger and is survived by his wife Elaine Cloninger and daughter Amanda Horneman. Also surviving are siblings Sharon Mehelich and companion Tony Bedwell of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Charlotte Waits and husband Billy of Ozark, Arkansas, Edmond Berkley and wife Jackie of Barling, Arkansas and Glenda Williams of Alma, Arkansas. Wayne also leaves behind seven nieces, four nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Northpointe Church, 2021 E. Park Blvd., Plano, Texas 75074 with Pastor Brian McClane officiating. Following the funeral service, Wayne will be laid to rest at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery with military honors.
