John Charles Barton

September 7, 1960 — October 1, 2010

John Charles Barton was born September 7, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa and left us on October 1, 2010 with his loving sister, Rhonda Polk at his side.

He was the ultimate Nebraska Cornhusker fan and was anxiously awaiting the upcoming college football season. John was a gem among gems in this life and did not want to go, but understood the nature of his disease and eventually surrendered, accepted and left us in his sleep; he is now resting in peace.

Thank you to the Collin County Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Vicky, Matt and Christie and Allen Family Funeral Options for the love and compassion afforded our family during this time. A special thank you to Sister Joyce and Brother Damien; there are no words for all the love, compassion and attention you have provided John in the past few months, we are very grateful.

Most importantly, we thank God for sharing John with us for his 50 years of life and know that we will someday be together again. Glory be to our Father in heaven, Jehovah God through his Son Christ Jesus.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Jeanene Barton, on August 1, 2007. He is survived by an older brother Edward Barton, sister Rhonda Polk (David), nieces Davina May and Vanessa Polk, great niece Kyndyll Geneva May. John also leaves behind wonderful memories for our family in Iowa and Washington, Kelly and Lee Dreesman and family, Linda Frasier and family, Donnie and Misie Mills and family, Denise Sullivan and family and our matriarch, Aunt Linda Matthews, cousin Bea and family, Jennifer and family and Chris and family.

The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Words of remembrance will be shared at 7:00 p.m.
