Ralph Leroy Adler

Ralph was born on October 4, 1943 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to parents Norbert Charles Adler and Norma Minnie Niendorf Adler. He was married to his wife, Tamara Ann Duve, on May 9, 1964. He enjoyed a long and varied career, retiring from the JCPenney Co. after 37 years.

Ralph loved to play golf and he also loved to travel. Sometimes, he was able to combine his interests- while golfing, he traveled over the rough and through the woods. Among the many places he visited are Israel, Germany, Poland, Italy, Austria, and cruises to Alaska and through the Panama Canal. Recently, he has become an avid fan of the Allen Americans hockey team. His Bible study groups were especially important to him. Ralph lived life to the fullest and loved his time with family, friends, and his church community. We never doubted what was important to him. Ralph leaves a family legacy that continues to honor the Adler name. We thank God for each day we were able to share with him.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Ralph is survived by his three daughters: Lori Sharp of Pembroke, GA; Lisa Below and husband John of Allen, TX; Shelley Adler of Gdansk, Poland; two sons: Kevin Adler and wife Pam of Richmond, VA; Rick Adler and wife Nancy of Allen, TX; and grandchildren: Hannah, Jeremy, Nicholas, Scout, Benjamin, Mason, Ashlyn, Ethan, and Whitley. Ralph is also survived by three sisters: Shirley Steinberg and husband Charles, Rose Hampton and husband LaVerne, and Sharon Adler (all of Wisconsin); and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Welsch and husband Clarence; and his son-in-law, Spencer Sharp.

A service of celebration for Ralph's life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 18 at Grace Community Church, located at 4501 Hedgcoxe Rd., Plano, TX, 75024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Brook Ministries "in memory of Ralph Adler". www.thebrookministries.org
