Cleah Belle (Hoss) McManigal, 97, of McKinney Texas, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa died
on May 3, 2017 at Medical City Hospital of McKinney after a brief illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at Suncreek United Methodist Church, 1517 McDermott Drive, Allen, Texas 75013 on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Barry Hughes and Reverend Milton Guttierrez officiating. Interment is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.
Miss Hoss was born September 11, 1919 in Sioux City, the daughter of Mathias and
Charlotte (Wheeler) Hoss. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City.
Cleah married Marlin Wayne McManigal on November 17, 1942 in Blair, Nebraska.
Cleah enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She was an active member
of Westminster Presbyterian Church then Morningside Presbyterian Church in Sioux City.
Her activities included being a Deacon and Elder as well as a member of the choir.
She had two children, Cheryl Anne (Huisman) and Thomas Wayne and was first and
foremost a homemaker. In addition, she worked as an inventory accountant for a variety
of businesses throughout the Sioux City area from the 1930's to the 1980's.
She lived in Sioux City until 1993 when she moved to Urbandale, Iowa. Marlin, her husband
of 56 years passed away September 18, 1997. In 2009 she moved to Texas to be
with her children and grandchildren. Here she continued to live independently.
Cleah suffered a serious fall in 2016 that required her to be moved to a Skilled Nursing facility.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Tom and Melanie (Matthews) McManigal of Plano, Texas, four granddaughters Christina (Huisman) Tuetken and husband Thomas of Haslet, Texas, Jacquelyn Huisman of Haslet, Texas, Heather (McManigal) Butler and husband Crosby
of McKinney, Texas and Megan (McManigal) Beasley and husband Ryan of Princeton, Texas. Also surviving are great grandchildren Tyler Nathan and Adelyn Cherylanne Tuetken of Haslet, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marlin, sister Faye, brother Richard and daughter Cheryl.
