Dana Joseph Tuscher

May 31, 1948 — March 20, 2017

Dana Joseph Tuscher was born on May 31, 1948 in Newton, Massachusetts to parents Helen and Joseph William Tuscher. Dana was the third of four boys. In his youth, he was an accomplished athlete, excelling at swimming and football. As a young adult, he enjoyed motocross racing and restoring old Triumph motorcycles with his older sons. He was an avid reader and loved U. S. history and especially WWII history. He was an expert marksman and could identify military helicopters and airplanes by their sound in flight. He had a great love for our country, proudly serving in the Army National Guard and later in the Army Reserves as a Chief Warrant Officer. In 2003, he was deployed to Iraq where he earned a Bronze Star for exceptionally meritorious performance of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Above all else, Dana's greatest passion was for the Lord Jesus Christ. He grew up as an altar boy in the Catholic church and even attended Catholic seminary when he was in middle school. At the age of 29, he became a born again Christian and enjoyed participating in various church ministries, helping those in need and reaching out to those seeking Christ. Dana enjoyed travelling and creating wonderful memories with his youngest son, daughter and wife. Lastly, Dana's story would not be complete without noting one last thing. Although big in stature, Dana loved some of God's smallest creatures...dogs. Especially dachshunds! Daisy Mae was his constant faithful companion, and just like those of us who loved him, she too will miss him dearly. Dana is survived by his wife Beth Tuscher, children Dana Tuscher, Josh Tuscher and his wife Julia, Brayden Tuscher, Haley Atchison and Joe Tuscher, grandson Piercen Van Brunt, siblings Jerry Balser, Lou Balser, Brian Tuscher and many loving friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options with Words of Remembrance spoken at 7:00. Dana will be laid to rest at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
