Pat Henderson

January 6, 1936 — March 18, 2017

Patience (Pat) Henderson of Allen, Texas, departed this life and entered into her Eternal Kingdom, surrounded by her loving family, on March 18, 2017. She was born January 6, 1936 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She was adopted at the age of 5 days and was the only child of the late John Wood Brooks and N. Constance Ladd. Pat was raised in Ridgefield, Connecticut and Wesley Hills, Massachusetts. She was privately tutored for a number of years and then graduated from Mary A. Burnham School for Girls and Briarcliff College. Pat met and married her husband Walter Buell Henderson in Nebraska in 1956, where he was stationed in the Air Force. During her career days, she was Project Manager and Vocational Counselor for several companies in Columbus, Ohio. She was employed in the personnel field for over 30 years. Pat is survived by her two sons, Wesley L. Henderson and wife Sheri of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Warren L. Henderson of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter Wendy L. Holland and husband Rick, of Plano, Texas, four grandchildren, Gregory and Derek Holland, Janetta Johnson and husband Austin and Jeremiah Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1994. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Chaplain Michael McDaniel will offer words of remembrance and comfort at 4:00 p.m. Pat requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Additionally, although Pat did not suffer from Alzheimer's, she had a heart for those who do and suggested memorials also be made to support Alzheimer's research, if desired.
"I leave my thoughts, my laughter, and all my dreams to you to cherish forever in your hearts and whom I have trusted beyond gold and precious gems. I am now in the arms of my beloved Father and one day we will all be united together."
