Donell Larue

Franklin Donell LaRue was born on December 6, 1937 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Harry Lee LaRue, Sr. and Sarah Mittie (Avants) LaRue and entered into rest, surrounded by loving family members, on March 2, 2017, in Richardson, Texas. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1962. On April 28, 1962, in Miami, Oklahoma, Donell married Carolyn Ruth Watson. Then, he began an extensive aviation career which included Lockheed, Aero Commander, Braniff International and Southwest Airlines. Donell retired from Southwest Airlines, after more than 20 years, in 2010. In retirement, he enjoyed being a "gentleman farmer" in Parker, Texas. Donell was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harry Lee LaRue, Jr. and his sister Lucille LaRue Crum. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughter and husband Lori and Rob Moore; son and wife, Kevin and Emily LaRue; four grandchildren Kristin, Ivy, T, and Cathleen and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Allen Family Funeral Options. There will be a private internment at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
