Robert Bernard Eberle

Robert Bernard Eberle, 96, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at his home in Plano, Texas. Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 2, 1920, to Bernard George and Loretta Mary Scheiber Eberle, and reared in Winnetka, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he received an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering. Bob and Betty were married in South St. Paul on June 15, 1943 and began their married life in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Bob worked at Chance Vought Aircraft. They moved to Texas with Vought in 1948 and lived in Dallas until 2009, when they moved to a retirement community in Plano. Bob worked at Vought for 39 years and retired at the age of 62. He was an avid golfer and Bob and Betty loved to travel, both in their RV throughout the country and abroad. They were founding members of St. Monica Parish in Dallas.
Bob is survived by his children Julia Eberle, Mary Eberle, M.D. and John Eberle and his wife Stephanie, grancchildren Alex Popp, Austin Eberle and Erin Eberle, sister Dolores Arroyo and sister in law Louise Eberle. He was preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 72 years, sister Regina Coopat and brother Marcus Eberle. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. A reception will follow the service at the church. Bob will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
