Kenneth Kay "Ken" Steinkirchner was born on June 2, 1928 in Newton, Kansas to parents Arthur and Lucile (Bookwalter) Steinkirchner. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Ken began his
career with Warren Petroleum in Tulsa, Oklahoma and his advancement there led him to many domestic relocations with extensive international travel to countries such as Saudi Arabia, England and Argentina. After thirty-two years, he finished his career with Warren Petroleum in Tulsa as the Vice President of Marketing.
Shortly afterwards, Ken started a successful business and relocated to Houston, Texas. Later, he moved to Plano, Texas to be closer to family and friends. Ken was actively involved in the
lives of his 5 children and 10 grandchildren, various community activities, his church, his friends and hobbies of golf, gin rummy, and travel.
His is survived by his wife of sixty-five years
Mary Rogene; children Robert (ShuJun), of Grand Lake, Oklahoma, Richard (Carol), of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karen (Rick), of Tucson, Arizona,
Jim (Leanne), of Huntington Beach, California,
and Tom (Pam), of Plano, Texas; his ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and siblings Arthur (Joyce), of Marshall, Michigan and Ladeen (Dean), of San Antonio, Texas.
A Mass of The Resurrection, to celebrate Ken's life, will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023. Inurnment will follow the Mass at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium. And a reception will follow.
