Julia Schubert

February 21, 1948 — January 3, 2017

Julia "Judy" Schubert passed away on January 3, 2017, recovering from strokes and battling Alzheimer's disease. She was born February 21, 1948 to Amelia R. and Harry F. Massimo of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. As a child, Judy loved riding horses, cheerleading and playing basketball. She married her high school sweetheart, James H. Schubert, in May, 1967. They welcomed their first child, Kimberly, in July, 1968 and their second child, Carrie, in January, 1974. In 1977, they moved to Houston, Texas to follow the growing economy in the south. Judy was also happy to get away from the cold winters; she definitely enjoyed warm/hot weather much better. Judy worked in the swimming pool industry most of her career. She enjoyed customer service and becoming certified with pool chemicals. She moved to Plano, Texas after her first grandson was born, continued with the swimming pool business then moved forward with multiple customer service jobs prior to retiring. Judy's hobbies included cooking, caring for her many plants, playing with (spoiling) her grandchildren and her dogs. If she could, she would have rescued every dog needing a forever home. She contributed to the SPCA and there was never a dog she didn't love. Judy is preceded in death by her mother Amelia R. Massimo, her father Harry F. Massimo and her husband, James H. Schubert. She is survived by her daughters Kim Carter (Kevin) of Plano, Texas and Carrie Schubert of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Justin, Jacob and Addison Carter of Plano, Texas; sister Deborah Sabatino (Bruce) of Newton Square, Pennsylvania; niece Donna Gambino (Fred) of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and nephew Paul Sabatino of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, Texas 75075. If it is your desire, the family requests that memorial donations, in Judy's name, be made to either the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
