Kirsten Leigh Laningham

July 29, 1998 — January 1, 2017

Fun loving, entertaining, funny, off-center, engaging and loving; these are only a few words used to describe Kirsten Leigh Laningham. She was a true light to the lives of so many people who were near and dear to her. Kirsten was uniquely special to each person in her life. She was born July 29, 1998 in Carrollton, Texas to parents Stephen (Steve) and Shelby (Hale) Laningham and left this earth, that may have just not been big enough for her on the first day of the New Year 2017. Kirsten was living and working in Houston with plans to enter Texas A&M University and study to become a Veterinarian. She was a 2016 graduate of McKinney High School and a member of FFA. A huge lover of the outdoors, Kirsten enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and playing softball. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Above all, Kirsten loved to sing and the louder the better! She loved to sing so much that if someone asked her, or maybe even begged her to stop, she would only sing louder. Family and friends were important to her and she found much happiness in going to church with her numerous friends. When Kirsten decided it was time for her to have a dog, she took a 2 hour car ride to select the perfect puppy! She chose a Blue Heeler puppy and named him Hunter; he was very important to Kirsten and will certainly be lost without her. Kirsten is survived by her father Steve Laningham, mother Shelby Laningham, paternal grandmother Sondra Winthrop, maternal grandfather Ron Hale, maternal grandmother Donna Schwenker, great grandmother Irene Sharp siblings Alyssa Delgado, Alexandra Laningham, Brittany Mc Donald, Chantel Laningham, D J Laningham, Kaylie Luneau, aunts and uncles Charlotte Fincher, Larry Laningham, Travis Laningham, Shawn Whitehead, Tiffany Freeman (Harlese), Taylor Hale and Landon Hale. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends. Kirsten is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather David Laningham (Pop's). A funeral service to celebrate Kirsten's life will be held, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 (noon) at Chase Oaks Church, 201 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas, 75023. Family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior to the service. If desired, contributions may be made in Kirsten's name to McKinney High School's Future Farmers of America program. "FFA offers students the chance to participate in activities that teach lifelong skills." McKinney High School, 1400 W Wilson Creek Pkwy, McKinney, Texas 75069 ATTN: FFA Program, Rick Lemons & Sean Williams.
