Jamie Gillam Smith, 55, passed away on November 24, 2016 at home in The Colony, Texas after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer.
Born April 14, 1961 in Syracuse, New York the daughter of John Bartley Gillam (USAF) and Toshiko Gillam. She attended college at Christopher Newport University, earning a degree in History. Jamie moved to Texas in 2000 and worked as a Mitsubishi Electronics representative and then as a pricing analyst at Oxy Chemical.
Jamie reveled in banter, was an avid outdoors woman and adventurer, enjoying jogging, primitive camping, flying with the Commemorative Air Force, kayaking, diving, hiking, traveling, cooking and was inseparable from her devoted partner, Keri. As well as being a devoted mom, she was tenacious, hardworking and ever cheerful, with an irrepressible positive outlook. These qualities served her, and those who loved her, as she coped with the last stages of her illness. Along with her own family, she will be greatly missed by the Quinn family and her ever expansive constellation of dear friends.
She is survived by Keri Quinn, her son Anthony James Smith and her mother Toshiko Gillam. She was predeceased in death by her Father John Gilliam.
Memorial services will be held at Hunters Glen Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on December 1st 2016, at 4001 Custer Rd Plano, TX. In lieu of contributions, Jamie would ask her lady friends to be screened for the insidious life robbing, ovarian cancer.
