Scott Broderick was born on March 14, 1958 in North Tarrytown, N.Y. to Robert E. Broderick and Josephine Zumbo Broderick. He met Barbara Henkel at a Halloween party when they were 19 and 20 years old, they subsequently dated for six years, married and remained happily together for the next 24 years. Scott was supportive of Barbara no matter what she desired. He was a "people pleaser", always putting others happiness before his own. He was loved by anyone who met him. He enjoyed his job with Konica Minolta and found it tremendously rewarding. His love for Barbara and his children Jeffrey, Jessica, Jena and Julie was unconditional. He loved watching Jeffrey play hockey and baseball and watching Cowboy games together. Scott could find a way of comforting Jessica when no one else could. He would sneak out with Jena to go practice her driving and enjoyed going with Julie on walks and to the dog park. Vacations with the family were treasured, but Scott loved to go away with Barbara for their personal times together. Scott loved the family animals (two dogs, a prarie dog, bunny and bird) none of which he bought, but loved and cared for them all. On November 23, 2008 Scott was unexpectedly taken from this life to his heavenly home. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and is survived by his wife Barbara, cihildren Jeffrey, Jessica, Jena and Julie, mother Josephine Prewitt and her husband Richard, brother Robert "Bob" Broderick and his wife Kathy, nephews Gregory and Timmy and numerous friends and colleagues. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023 with the Reverend Monsignor Henry V. Petter, officiating. If desired, contributions may be made in Scott's name to St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
