Patricia (Pat) Schumacher

November 26, 1941 — October 14, 2016

Patricia (Pat) Lucille Otto Schumacher was called home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2016, at her home in Plano, Texas after a brief struggle with cancer. Pat was born November 26, 1941, in Muenster, Texas, the daughter of W.W. Otto and Anna Teresa Reiter Otto. She was the youngest of six children. Pat grew up on a dairy farm. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Muenster High School in 1959. She was a majorette and was elected homecoming queen of her high school class. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Schumacher, on June 29, 1963. Their marriage took them on many journeys together. Corporate assignment led them to New Jersey, Florida and back to Texas. In 1991 they started their own business, All-Safe Pest. Pat served as the bookkeeper until her retirement in 2010. She was very proud of her involvement in growing the business. Pat was a devoted mother to her three children and she considered her children to be her primary accomplishment in life. She loved her children unconditionally and there was nothing she wouldn't do to assist them. As adults, all three of her children lived within 15 minutes of her home. She enjoyed weekly lunches, shopping outings, and watching the Rangers and Cowboys with her family. She was also an integral part of her four grandchildren's lives and often the first person to be called to babysit and later to shuttle them around to their activities. Their lives are forever touched by their wonderful Grandmother.
Pat is survived by her husband Jim Schumacher, her son Jay Schumacher and his wife Shelly, her daughter Jeanna Bonneau and her husband Scott, and her son Jeff Schumacher and his wife Clara. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Emily and Haden Schumacher, and Drew and Kate Bonneau. She is also survived by her brother Herbert Otto of Arlington, Texas and her sister Virginia Daugherty of Gainesville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings, Clifford Otto, Helen Arendt, and Kenneth Otto. A funeral mass will be held at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023 at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2016. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. on the same day in the chapel located inside the church. Immediately following the mass, a reception will be held in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her memory to the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County to honor the constant and unconditional love she offered her children and grandchildren.
