Mary Aurelia Menza

Mary Aurelia Menza was born June 13, 1916 in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Antoinina Fazio and Benedetto Franco. She passed away quietly in her sleep Monday October 3, 2016 in Lewisville, Texas. Mary was the youngest of six children. She went to nursing school graduating in 1937 as a Registered Nurse. In the 1940's she moved with her family to Buffalo, New York. Interestingly she and several of her friends decided to take airplane flying lessons. While she never got her pilots license she enjoyed it immensely! After WW2 while working at Linde Air as an infirmary nurse, she met her husband. They were married June 12,1948. Raising two children and working in the Buffalo area until retirement in 1981. She loved gardening, spoke Italian, and loved cooking and most of all her family. Traveling extensively they retired to St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived until 2003. They moved then to Plano, Texas to be close to their family and newly minted grandson. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Glenn Tucker, her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Carmen Menza and her only grandson Nicco Menza. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their children from Pennsylvania, New York, Colorado, and California. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Sebastian Fredrick Menza, three brothers Emanuel Franco, Horace Franco and Tony Franco and two sisters Rose Chapman and Nancy Perrone. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Allen Family Funeral Options. Funeral services to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church Parish, 180 Samuel Blvd, Coppell, Texas 75019. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband at the Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas
