Edward Gardner

October 18, 1946 — September 23, 2016

Born on October 18, 1946 and departed on September 23, 2016. Ed joined God and His angels on September 23, 2016 with his wife and son by his side. Ed joins his Mother, Father and his Grandparents.
Ed was born on October 18, 1946 to Harold J. Gardner and Gertrude T. Gardner in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Brighton High School and then went on to college and graduated from Northeastern University. After college he served his country as a medic with the US Air Force Reserve.
He met and fell in love with Patricia Regan, from Milton, Massachusetts and then they had a son, Ted Gardner who was born in North Attleboro.
Ed moved the family to Plano, Texas to pursue a career as a systems analyst at EDS and later moved to PFS Web where he retired.
Not being the type to slow down in retirement, he began working part-time at Academy Sports and Outdoors. He was truly loved by everyone there and quickly became a mentor and father figure to all.
Ed maintained a true love of all sports. His younger years were spent on the ice, playing hockey. He later mentored his son Ted along in baseball. His love of baseball and the Boston Red Sox, along with all New England sports, is well known to anyone who came in contact with him.
Ed's last phrase after a text on his flip phone or a phone conversation was either Go Sox or Go Patriots.
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Gardner; Son, Ted P. Gardner; Grandson, Andrew P. Gardner; Sisters, Lorraine M. Seacrist and Joyce M. Hynds along with several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held on Friday October 7, at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church: 2700 West Spring Pkwy, Plano, Texas, 75023.
