Karen Ann "Mac" Louda was born December 12, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents Paul and Erma Grill. In 1963 she met and fell in love with Dave Louda; after he returned from active duty in the U. S. Navy, they married in 1968 at St. Sylvester Church in Brentwood, Pennsylvania. Dave went to work for Dentsply International and in 1971 they were transferred to Southern California where Karen gave birth to their daughter Shannon in July of 1972. A promotion took them to Plano, Texas in 1983 where they have resided ever since. As all who knew her will attest, Karen was indeed the consummate "GIVER" who always put others ahead of herself. Her huge number of friends is certainly testament to that. Her incredible smile lit up a room in an instant and put all around her at ease and conveyed a feeling to them that they just wanted to get to know her and become part of her life. What a blessing! To say that she will be missed is probably the understatement of all time. The lyrics of the song that Dave chose for her was "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, really says everything. Her credo has always been, "Faith, Family and Friends".she certainly got it right, a light has gone out in Texas but a new star shines bright in the heavens. Karen is survived by her husband Dave Louda, daughter and son in law Shannon and Phil Stewart, brothers in law and sister in law Scott Louda and his wife Sheila, Jeff Louda. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023 with The Reverend Bruce Bradley, officiating. Karen will be laid to rest at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Columbarium. A reception will be following in the Parrish hall.
