Maurice Morgan

June 7, 1934 — August 14, 2016

Born on 6/7/1934 to Floyd and Mary Morgan in their farm home southeast of Caddo, OK.

His parents were members of the Caddo Nazarene Church where he attended all of his early years and came to accept Christ as his personal savior. He graduated from Caddo High School in 1952

He enlisted in the USAF in November of 1953 where he served until November of 1957. He and Dorothy Armstrong were married in June of 1954 in Denver, Colorado during his first year of military service. He and Dorothy had 2 children, Steve, born 3/21/1955 and Loretta, born 1/23/1958. He attended 3 different colleges during his early years.

His career consisted of 36 years of Government Service beginning in 1953 including 4 years in USAF, a number of civilian government agencies, and his final 23 years were with the defense contract administration service in KC, MO and Dallas, TX. He was the Divisional Production Manager for the DCASR Dallas Region at the time of Retirement on 7/3/1989.

His entire adult life included Christian service in the church where he was a member. He served in many different capacities ie: Sunday School teacher, Director of Christian Life, Board member, Chairman of Building and Grounds, Nursing Home Ministry, etc.

In 1994 He designed and managed the redesign, development and landscape of The Birth Place Memorial Site for the Church of the Nazarene in Pilot Point, TX. After his retirement in 1989, he was was involved in numerous part time project but his major involvement was working with his son, Steve, on his cattle beginning in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 62 yrs, his son, Steven Morgan daughter-in-law, Dotty, and his daughter, Loretta Peterson and son-in-law, Neil. He also is survived by 6 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held August 17, 2016 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas Tx, 75211 at 10:30 AM and a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM at Prestonwood Baptist Church North Campus. 1001 75W. Prosper Trail Prosper Tx. 75078
