Brian Ruble

Brian Lee Ruble was born August 6, 1957 in Bloomington, Illinois to parents Wesley and Mary Ellen (Goff) Ruble. He passed away peacefully at his home in Plano, Texas Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Brian grew up in McLean, Illinois with a genuine love for music, gardening, and sports; he was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. He graduated from Olympia High School and Illinois State University; he first demonstrated his strong work ethic working at the Dixie Truck Stop while in school. Brian retired from JCPenney in 2016 after a successful 37 year career in management. Brian is survived by his best friend and wife of 33 years, Margaret (May) Ruble and their beloved daughter, Mary Nichole Ruble. Other survivors include his sister, Cathy (Steve) Craig of McLean Illinois, father-in-law Deane May of Lincoln, Illinois, sister-in-law Rebecca Weatherford of Iowa City, Iowa and sister-in-law Cynthia (Chuck) Bickhaus of Denton, Texas. Also surviving are nephew Daniel (Hollie) Craig and nieces Ivy Craig, Deanna Weatherford, Claire (Derek) Ma, Lynde Weatherford, and Cheryl Weatherford; and a great-nephew Wesley Craig. Brian will also be missed by many extended family members, friends and his faithful canine companion, Toby. Brian was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at Custer Road United Methodist Church, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. An additional celebration of life will be held in McLean, Illinois at a later date.
In lieu of floral tributes, please consider donations to Custer Road United Methodist Church, Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Public Library or McLean Christian Church. An additional service is being held in memory and celebration of Brian's life. The celebration of his life will be June 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at McLean Christian Church, McLean Illinois.
