Calvin Stewart

Calvin James Stewart was born March 12, 1997 in Plano, Texas to parents Bruce and Tami Stewart. He passed away March 26, 2016 in Austin, Texas at 19 years of age.

Calvin was an honor graduate of Plano West Senior High. An avid hockey player since the age of six, he played for the Plano West Wolves for four years and numerous travel hockey teams for 12 years, most notably the Dallas Junior Hockey Association Penguins. Calvin so loved his hockey teammates and coaches, the rousing fun they had on numerous hockey trips, and the everyday bonding on the ice. Calvin was also a member of the Plano Chapter of Young Men's Service League and St. Andrew United Methodist Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Calvin positively impacted the lives of everyone around him with his infectious smile and contagious laugh. His intelligence, wit, humor, caring nature, and ability to love deeply left all friends knowing that he or she was his best friend. He will be so missed by the hundreds of neighborhood and school friends he made in his all-too-short 19 years.

Calvin was a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. He was tremendously proud to be a Longhorn and a member of the Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma, along with his older brother Alexander, who loved him so tenderly and profoundly. The brothers he gained at Kappa Sig were added to the long list of best friends Calvin cherished.

Calvin was the light and life of his family. He will be so missed but all are comforted knowing he is now in God's loving arms, smiling upon us.

Calvin is survived by his loving parents Bruce and Tami Stewart, brother Alexander Stewart, paternal grandfather James Stewart, maternal grandparents Curt and Audrey Myers, aunts and uncles Brad Myers, Brian and Raylene Myers, Cindy and John Prudich, Jim and Janet Stewart, Audrey and Tom Dababreiner, other loving family members Virginia Becker, Jan and Jim Fitzgerald, Bev and Darrell Mitchell, Don and Joyce Haugen, including cousins Robert, Andrew, Mitchell, Jackie, Tyler, Travis, Paul, Mark, Ethan and Grace. He is also survived by his loving furry companion Molly. Calvin is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Graechen Stewart.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Calvin's life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 5801 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75093.
