Luis Orihuela was born and raised in Puerto Rico. At age 11, he moved to the United States and fell in love with this country. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He did not have your typical hobbies. He was a natural born waiter and enjoyed serving others. He loved to run errands, always dragging along a kid or 3 with him. He was an excellent chef and cooked for every family function. He cooked so well his touch even made a sandwich taste absolutely amazing! His most hated word in the English language was "broken". He never learned how to fix things well, but he did it anyway and surely enjoyed trying. To him failure was not an option, but to his wife, Myrna, failure was his only option. He was always gardening and took great pride in his yard and flower beds. If you came over you were always given the grand tour of his garden, even if it wasn't your first time. He loved to help others at any opportunity but even more he thoroughly enjoyed a great argument, especially concerning politics. He didn't particularly care what side he was on as long as he could contradict someone. When his children were young, he loved coming up with the most elaborate Halloween costumes. The entire neighborhood made it a point to visit our home to see what he had come up with. He felt forever 21 and always looked forward to Mardi Gras, and barhopping on 6th Street and Bourbon Street. He was always everywhere whether he was invited or not. But, most importantly, Luis was a family man. He loved and kept track of all his family and friends, both near and far. He adored his grandchildren and most especially loved bringing them to work and getting them some "off limits" ice cream. Most of his working life he was in the hospitality industry. A HUGE fan of the Dallas Cowboys, later in life he got his dream job at the Cowboy Stadium. He said he would work there until the day he died and he literally did. His basic life philosophy was it is a "wonderful world". Lastly, one of his favorite sayings is "And this too shall pass." Luis is survived by his loving wife Myrna Orihuela, children Kristen Files and her husband Jace, Kevin Orihuela, Kenneth Orihuela and Melissa Ayala grandchildren Ashlyn, Noah, Autumn, Aili Files and Sara Ayala, aunt, Josie Orihuela and uncle, Tomas Orihuela.
