Gail G Maddox

Gail was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1937 to Dorothy and Barney Glover.
The family moved to Bunkie, Louisiana, where she graduated from High School in 1955.
She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1959 from Southwestern Louisiana Institute of Liberal and Technical Learning. On December 26, 1959 she married James A. Abbey and their first child, Wes was born in December the following year. In August of 1963 Gail and James had a second son, William Archer, who sadly did not survive. The couple was later blessed with two more children; Cara in 1966 and Clay in 1969. Gail received her Master's Degree in 1972 from Lamar University. Her marriage to James came to an end in 1978 and on September 1, 1984, she married Dr. Dan Maddox. Gail loved and valued her relationship with her Lord, family and friends. She will be fondly remembered as the most loving, loyal and giving person you could ever know. She was truly a beautiful person and was a best friend to many. In addition to devoting her time to family and friends, Gail enjoyed travelling. She was fortunate to make several trips to The Holy Land, Europe and to go on numerous cruises. She also enjoyed attending the Corn Festival in Bunkie, Louisiana. Gail is survived by her husband Daniel Lee Maddox, children, Wes Abbey and his wife Stacey, Cara Mark, Clay Abbey, step-children, Debbie Maddox, Jim Maddox and Jill Bagwell and her husband Dee, grandchildren, Jared, Devin and Dayton Abbey, Hayden and Chloe Mark, step-grandchildren, Quatro and Ashley Ham and Samantha Maddox, great granddaughter Abigayle Matthews. She was preceded in death by her infant son William Archer Abbey.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:30 am at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas 75024. Gail will be interred at the Dallas Ft Worth National Cemetery.
