Gloria Joy Flynn

Gloria Joy Flynn was born October 22, 1928, in Bolckow, Missouri and died on February 22, 2016, in Plano, Texas. She went by her middle name, Joy, and that was an apt description of her demeanor. Her smile lit up the room and there was never a conversation that she couldn't carry. She was a dedicated wife to Eugene (Gene) and a dedicated mother to their five children, Mark (Mary), Brent (Nancy), Scott (Lyn), Tracy (June) and Susan Coley (Steven). During their lives together, Gene, Joy and family moved around the country as Gene was promoted in his career. Starting in St. Joseph, MO, they moved to Kansas City, MO, Charlotte, NC, Arlington Heights, IL, Plano, TX, and later retired to Sunrise Beach, MO, and Harlingen, TX. They ultimately relocated to Plano, TX, to be closer to family and grandchildren. Along the way, they met many life-long friends. Gene and Joy were founding members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. In June 2015, Gene and Joy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Joy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Opal (Ellis) and Clifford Snodderly, her brother Logan Snodderly and her sisters, Joyce Elaine and Joan McCormick, and is survived by her brother, Bryce Snodderly (Illah), her sister Kathy Phillips (Dan), her sister-in-law, Olive Jean Snodderly, her five children, and her twelve grandchildren, Bryan Flynn (Micelle), Bridget Flynn, Molly Flynn, Ashley Olson (Erick), Megan Flynn (fiancé Brian Moloney), Katelyn Flynn, Cooper Flynn, Samantha Flynn, Spencer Coley, Casey Flynn, Laura-Grace Coley and Tyler Flynn, by her great grandchildren, Fiona Flynn, Madelyn Coley and Brent Flynn, and many nieces and nephews. A Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday February 25, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30am on Friday February 26, 2016 also at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a reception will follow.
