Ron was born and raised in Maryland where he attended High Point High School and met his first wife, Marie. After graduation he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and his masters in Bio Environmental Engineering at Maryland University. He married Marie in 1964 and they had 2 daughters. Ron joined the Air Force in 1966 and in the course of his military career he lived in many places, had many wonderful experiences and met lifelong friends. In addition to his career, he cared for his terminally ill wife for 20 years. While caring for Marie it became apparent to Ron that life was not in his control, but in God's. This realization led him to grow in his faith, which guided the path of his Christian journey. After the passing of his wife in 1992, he married his second wife, Katie. He then retired from the Air Force in 1992, as a Colonel, after serving his country for 26 years. Ron and Katie moved to Virginia to start a new chapter of his life. They lived there for 5 years before returning to Texas to be near family. Ron's passions included photography, reading, ministering to others and he cherished his 5 children and 13 grandchildren until his passing. He fought a courageous battle with cancer while never straying from his strong faith. He was a devoted husband, a beloved friend and impacted the lives of everyone he met.
