Nancy Sproul

November 23, 1935 — January 18, 2016

Nancy Lena (Roraback) Sproul was born in the Berkshires, in Litchfield County, Connecticut - the youngest of eight, seven of whom survived to adulthood. She attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, majoring in commercial art until her marriage to Robert C. Sproul in 1956. They and their children lived in and around Boston until moving to the Dallas area in 1970, where she quickly learned to love the food, the community and Texas hospitality. She is survived by her three children, Carol Yvonne Huber and Kevin Russell Sproul of North Texas and Bernadette Nancy Sproul of Northern California, Kevin's sons, Kyle and Bryce and Bernadette's step-daughter Brook and quite a few nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Nancy gave generously of her time over the years: Girl Scout Leader, Webelo Leader, Sunday school teacher, PTA President and various positions within the church she loved. Her passions included animals, especially the cats and dogs with which she shared her home and life, gardening and reading.
She and her husband Rob loved traveling, visiting places both near and far: Scarborough Renaissance Faire, the Texas State Fair and Marshall, Texas close to home. Carlsbad Caverns, the Grand Canyon, the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park and San Francisco were some of the trips further afield. There was also the trip of a lifetime to Israel, which she and Rob treasured and spoke of often. Nancy touched the lives of so many people. She will be remembered and missed by all who loved her. Her memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Dr., Plano Texas 75024
