James H. (Jim) Muller was born in September 25, 1932 to Julius Frederick Muller and his wife Ethel near Princeton, New Jersey. The third of three sons, he was active in Princeton High School plays and musical events. He was also an avid ice skater around that time. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1963. He married Audrey Newton on May 14, 1966 and they had their son, Larry, on May 21, 1967. In the early seventies, he worked at Thiokol in Trenton, New Jersey in advertising for their disc brakes division. During this time he was involved in amateur car racing and raced in the Ohio Grand Prix in 1973. Writing being his strong suit, he wrote an article on his experience called "Look Ma! I'm Racing!" In 1977, he started work at Texas Instruments in their Consumer Products Division doing Public Relations promoting the then new microchip technology appearing in electronic games and toys leading up to the early personal computers in the early 1980s. As son Larry entered his teens, they both formed a non-profit computer association for kids out of their garage that reached worldwide. Although the technology eventually got beyond him with internet, social media, and then smartphones and tablets, he certainly left an impression. He saw himself as a mentor. When a student from Australia decided not to renew with Jim's group to carry out the group's mission without his support, Jim considered it a compliment like he accomplished what he wanted in the mission.
As far as faith, he may have strayed as we all do, questioning is the Bible real or myth. In later years, perhaps as his son Larry came to a relationship with Christ in 1996 or attending his small group at Christ Church Plano with his wife Audrey, Jim eventually came to realize that the Bible is in fact Truth not topic. He is loved and will be missed by his family and friends that loved him in the Lord. But we all know he is up in Heaven with the Lord living peace without pain.
Jim is survived by his wife Audrey Muller; son Larry Muller; granddaughter Elizabeth May Muller; and brother Richard Muller and his wife Barbara.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church, 4550 Legacy Plano, Texas 75024, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception immediately following in the Children's Praise Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
