Nancy Louise Mize

July 17, 1931 — January 1, 2016

Nancy Louise was born on July 17th, 1931 in Ohio. She was the first born child of John Parker and Theresa M. (Lucchise) Kalbaugh. Nancy Louise grew up in a 2 story house in Hamburg, NY on Grove Place. The house was across the street from and facing Lake Erie. As a young girl she would enjoy walking to the lake and learning to skip rocks with her father. Nancy Louise graduated from Hamburg High School and attended the University of Buffalo.
She worked in the insurance industry for many years but always wanted to be a flight attendant to see the world. She enjoyed the cold though and was always willing to shovel snow in a dress.

On the morning of June 16th, 1962 in Athol Springs, NY at St. Francis of Assisi Church Nancy Louise was given away by her father to Milton James Mize, Sr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Mize. The couple honeymooned in Montreal and Quebec. The couple lived in Hamburg, NY on Main Street for several years before moving to West Monroe, LA. In August of 1974, Nancy Louise and Milton James Mize got the biggest surprise of their marriage, at the age of 43 she would be having a child! Her son Milton James Mize, Jr. was born April 24th, 1975 at St. Francis hospital in Monroe, LA.

Nancy Louise would spend the next eighteen years raising a young man to follow God. She was a faithful mother and friend, always there for her family and others. Nancy Louise had an unselfish spirit and a heart of service. She took care of her husband who battled cancer never leaving his side until his passing in November of 1985 after 23 years of marriage. She raised her son alone and made sure he was always provided for. Nancy Louise loved watching her son in various activities and was always at every event no matter where she had to drive. In November of 1996, Nancy Louise became a grandmother to Dalton James Mize. True to her nature she would watch him every day never leaving his side while his parents worked and went to school. In September of 1998, she became a grandmother again to Logan Elaine Mize. Nancy Louise loved her grandchildren and was always watching and caring for them. In 2009, she followed her son and family to Plano, Texas.
Nancy Louise enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up, play sports and was proud of her son graduating college as a doctor of chiropractic.

Nancy Louise left a powerful legacy to her family of being faithful. She was faithful to God, Family and Friends. She enjoyed her black coffee at all times of the day, eating sweets, watching television, reading many books and never meeting a stranger. To met Nancy Louise was to love her unless you made her mad. She had a huge heart, a positive attitude and the kindest smile. Nancy Louise passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2016 with her family by her side as she had always been by theirs.

Nancy Louise Mize was preceded in death by her brother John Parker Kalbaugh Jr., her husband Milton James Mize, Sr. in November,1985, her father John Parker Kalbaugh, Sr. in March, 1991, and her mother Theresa M. (Lucchise) Kalbaugh in July. She is survived by her son Milton James Mize, Jr., her daughter in love Tanya (Hemphill) Mize, and her grandchildren Dalton James and Logan Elaine Mize.
Nancy Louise finished strong with thankfulness and love. She will be missed, but never forgotten, until we see her again.
