Jane and P.D. Davidson desperately wanted to start a family. They prayed, but thought it wasn't God's will. After 14 years of marriage, God provided an answer to their prayers. They saw the 20/20 newscast in 1990 about the need for families to adopt Romanian children living in orphanages for "safe-keeping". They began to pursue this and long story short, they found out about a little boy who another couple had seen while in Romania. That precious little boy was Jon, born December 6, 1987 in Roman, Romania and given the birth name, Ion Claudio Mitoc.
Jane & P.D. traveled to Romania for 3 weeks and came home to Allen with 2 little boys in tow. Life was busy, to say the least, at the Davidson household, since parenthood was all new to them, and now they had a 3 year old (Jon) and an infant (Andrew). Jon was a happy energetic little boy exploring things he had never seen before in Romania.
P.D., Jane, Jon and Andrew arrived back in Texas in early April 1991. A few months later, Jon enrolled in the Allen schools, learning English and continued in the Allen school system until he graduated in June 2007.
Jon lived in Lamesa, Texas for 2 years with his aunt and uncle, Carol and Don Sitton while working at several, various jobs.
In 2011, Jon moved back to Allen and worked to get his CDL license. Jon was a Professional Over-the-Road Truck Driver for 4 years, covering 47 of the 50 states. He was so proud that in the 4 years he drove, he did not have any accidents. Jon said once that it takes a special person to drive a truck. He was that special person.
Jon had a love for airplanes and loved playing Flight Simulator. He loved the roar of a plane when taking off and landing, and enjoyed when he was able to park his truck near major airports.
Jon had a knack for imitating people. He had also perfected the ability to talk in funny voices. When he was young, he loved to put on "shows" and then continued that love of drama.
Jon will be greatly missed by his family. Jon made his family complete, and now there will be a huge void that was once complete.
Jon is survived by his parents, Paul (P.D.) and Jane; brother, Andrew; grandmother, Oleta Thompson; aunts Joan Abner, Sue Ann (Lawson) McSwain, Carol (Don) Sitton, Deborah (James) Kingsmill, and uncle Wayne (Kim) Thompson. Jon is also survived by his cousins, James Paul (Christina) Abner, Brian (Anna) McSwain, Ann Marie McSwain, Tara (Carey) Korbe, Jenny Thompson, Adam Thompson, Jacob Kingsmill, Madison Marie Abner, Dyllan McSwain, Cameron, Emma and Cooper Korbe and Ocean Miller.
Jon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Marie Davidson, his maternal grandfather, Sam Thompson and his uncle, Orville Abner.
