Matthew Lee, 51, passed away on December 11, 2015 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. He was born on October 19, 1964 in Seoul, Korea to Stella (Chun) and Michael Lee and spent most of his formative years in Los Angeles, California. Matthew married Kristine (So) on December 23, 1990 in Burbank, California.
Surviving Matthew are his wife, Kristine Lee; two children, Nathan and Candice Lee; father, Michael Lee; sister, Theothora and her husband, Stephen Kim; brother, Chris Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Matthew in death was his mother, Stella (Chun) Lee. Matthew's greatest qualities were his intellect, his determination, and his strength. Complementing his strength was a great tenderness. Those close to him can attest to his affectionate and gentle nature. Strength is nothing without an element of warmth. This warmth manifested itself in his greatest giftencouragement. He encouraged those both close and far. Seeing value in everything and everyone, he made it known to others their worth and their significance. Matthew's driving force was his love for knowledge and truth, pursuing both wholeheartedly. After he came to Christ in October of 2002, this love for knowledge translated into his relationship with God and transformed his relationships with others as a result. Not only did he study and know the tenants of God's word, he lived them out and lived them out well. By voluntarily uniting himself to God, Matthew lived a free life--a raritysubject and enslaved to nothing. Above all, Matthew was a servant of Christ. God loved him and he was not afraid to love God. Matthew lived not by appearances of blessings, but by the promises of blessings. He chose not to please the world, but to please God. Amidst trial and tribulation, Matthew counted nothing as loses, but everything as gains. And that is how we should view his death, not as a loss in the world, but rather as a gain in the kingdom of heaven. Family will receive friends at a visitation Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Allen Family Funeral Options. A funeral to celebrate Matthew's life will be held, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Prestonwood Baptist Church, in Faith Chapel at 6801 W Park Blvd., Plano, Texas, officiated by Pastor Neal Jeffrey. Matthew will be laid to rest at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, Coppell, Texas.
