Ea Frieden

July 12, 1948 — November 25, 2015

E.A. Frieden slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1948 in West Bend, Iowa, to parents Leo and Estalene Frieden. After graduating high school in 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. After ending his service at Ft. Hood, he moved to Waco where he met the love of his life, Peggy Jenkins. They were married in 1976, and were blessed with a son Adam and daughter Jennifer. He was an entrepreneur most of his life developing and operating several businesses and was also a licensed private investigator. E.A. was a long-time member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities, including head of security at the Prestonwood Dallas campus, and also as a Deacon. One of his favorite duties as Deacon was visiting members in hospitals, offering prayer and encouragement. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a frue friend to so many. He loved meeting people, and making them feel welcome, whether in his home or in the church. Many friends will miss the loving hugs he gave out so freely. E.A. was a man of great faith, and that faith served him well during his illness. He was a wonderful testimony of the power of God's grace in the midst of adversity. He often said that whether God healed him physically, or healed him by taking him home with Him that he was a winner either way. He walked the path God had set before him without complaint, and with courage and dignity. E.A. is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy, son Adam and daughter-in-law Stacey, grandchildren Kaylee, Kallie, Cayden, Logan and Eden. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon Tonjes, of Sioux Falls, S. Dakota, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his by daughter Jennifer and grandson Cole who were there to welcome him to his eternal home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dallas Campus, 12123 Hillcrest with Pastor Neal Jeffrey officiating. E.A. will be laid to rest at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. If desired, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
