Pauline "Paula" Elizabeth Pendergraft, age 82, departed this earthly existence on October 29, 2015, following a courageous 18-month battle with lymphoma. She was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas on August 22, 1933, to Louis "Jack" Peila and Theresa Gilles Peila. She graduated from Coal Hill High School in 1951, and attended Capitol City Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She worked as a bookkeeper in Little Rock and Oklahoma City for twenty-five years. She studied art at Oklahoma City Community College and with private instructors, and later taught painting at OCCC for sixteen years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather David Edgar Shepherd, and her beloved husband Linzy Pendergraft. She is survived by son Larry Pendergraft, daughter-in-law Margie, and grandchildren Daniel and Laura Pendergraft of Allen, Texas, nephew Bill Pendergraft of Dover, Arkansas, other nieces and nephews, and many, many dear friends.

The family wishes to thank the employees of the Waterford of Plano, who loved and cared for Paula, and made Plano feel like home.
