Shannon Kathleen Klotz was born at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan on December 10, 1971 to SSGT Roger and Kathleen Klotz. She was the first born child of the Klotz Klan and was a very active little girl, who loved to play outside.
Shannon and her parents returned to the United States in 1973 and relocated to Baldwin Park, California to be around family. In 1978, the family moved to Middletown, New York where she learned to play the violin and enrolled in gymnastics. The family later moved to Plano, Texas (in 1982) where Shannon excelled at competitive swimming with the City of Plano Swim Team. She later joined the Dolphinettes (a synchronized swim team) and enjoyed Fast Pitch Softball. She graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1990 and attended Collin County Community College. During that time, she became a Master Scuba Diver, and spent many summers in Mexico! Shannon worked at Countrywide Mortgage, which later became BofA Mortgages, where she excelled in short-sale mortgages as a customer service representative. Shannon loved to help people and thoroughly enjoyed her job. Shannon was quite the character and became obsessed with the color purple - even dying her hair a dark purple hue. She was a HUGE Van Diesel fan, loved the TV Series Charmed, and all 80's hair bands (especially Bon Jovi, Queen, and Poison). Shannon was an avid photographer; enjoyed fishing with her dad, but her favorite way to relax was to play bingo or head to Oklahoma to play some slots. In fact, throughout her lifetime, she pulled many winning slots, bingo'ed multiple times (sometimes more than once in a night), and even won a car. She was one of the luckiest people ever. When it came to family, Shannon was always organizing a family get together and especially loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved to spoil them rotten and was hoping to teach them to swim before she passed. She was a very loving daughter, older sister, and friend. Shannon passed on Friday, October 9th at the young age of 43. She is missed tremendously by all her surviving family & friends. Shannon is survived by her father and step-mother Roger and Mary Klotz, brother Christopher Klotz and his wife Heather, sister Karolyn Dankowski and her husband Brian and brother David Klotz, nieces and nephews Kaitlyn and Harrison Klotz and Jameson and Presley Dankowski, life long friend Suzanne Arndt and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathy Klotz. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:15 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr., Dallas, Texas 75248 with The Rev. Anthony Lackland, officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the mass in the Parrish Hall. Shannon will be laid to rest at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no can steal.
