Roy Wright

Roy Augusto Wright was born in Panama on October 12, 1946 to parents Roy and Maria Wright. He passed away September 11, 2015 in Plano, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Strength, love, compassion and strong will; these are the words that come to mind when I think of Roy Augusto Wright. Strength: Strength of the body and strength of the mind. He was a military veteran of 21 years and as confident as they come. He retired from the United State Army and walked with the stature of a king but kept the common touch. He understood the strength of bonds and renewal of those needed. Love: The love he had for his family was unconditional and everlasting. The love he shared for his friends was one that could be described as nothing less than true. Compassion: Compassion means having sympathetic pity and concern of the sufferings or misfortunes of others. Although Roy shared his compassion with anyone in need, he never showed the need for pity from others. Strong Will: Roy always said "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." Those words alone demonstrated not only his stubbornness but his belief in mental toughness. Roy will be forever remembered and loved by his children; Michael Antonio Wright (LaChanda Dunlap-Wright), Sudie Ashleigh Jennings (Nicholas), grandchildren; Kaala Fennell and Xavier Guadalupe Wright, Sanai Micayla and Aiyana Mechell Wright, Jaydyn and Jordan Jennings, mother; Maria Phillip, his longtime companion, brothers; Alen Bruce, Ernesto Wright, Sinclair Wright, sisters; Anita Bruce, Aurelia Phillip, mother of Roy's children; Maritza Wright. Roy was preceded in death by his father Roy Wright. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas with a reception immediately following in the Parrish hall.
