Gilbert Mclorren

May 23, 1950 — April 28, 2015

Gilbert McLorren, a giant among men, not in stature but in spirit, tenacity and heart. A loving husband to his best friend and soulmate Mary McLorren for 42 years. Born in the lovely island of St. Lucia, he learned to be self sufficient, and his career path a Master Mechanic. He was also a man of Faith, devoted to ministry and helping others. He has held the office of Deacon, Minister, Elder and Teacher, but to his children the greatest of these was Father. Father to 7 children, whom he devoted his life to ensure they had a solid foundation to build from. He instilled in them the importance of confidence and hard work. He taught them by example that there was nothing they couldn't accomplish if they set their minds to it, and the importance of education and family. His legacy can be seen clearly in his family; there is love and affection and genuine fondness for each other. The close bond they share a was fostered by the nurturing and guidance from he and his wife.

Evidence of a good life can be seen in one's children, the legacy left behind and how they've affected the lives of others. The outpouring of love culminates in the lasting effect of his life in Christ and character during his life in this world. God's hand was on him and when his work here on earth was done, transitioned to the presence of God. He would say to you "why do you weep as if I am dead. I simply transitioned to my new life and am with the Lord God Almighty, Creator of all you see before you." He would ask that you make sure that you too make it to heaven so we can rejoice with the Father together. The Family of Gilbert "Giant, Cuffy, Gilly" McLorren is celebrating his life, not death. We are appreciative of your prayers, kind sentiments, warm regards and support for the family as they mourn him on this side but are assured to see him in the new life to come.! Shalom! -
