Jared Jack Blackmon Chambliss was born on July 1, 1994 in Longview, Texas. He was a truly unique and remarkable young man. From his birth in 1994 and throughout his 20 years on this Earth he battled chronic heart problems, which were compounded by a series of extensive medical issues over the last 2 years. Through it all, his unquestionable faith in God gave him the strength to face each new day with a smile. He was a genuinely honest, pure, kind and generous soul, unlike anyone we will ever meet again. Everyone who knew Jared is a better person for it. His life was simple and very limited in many ways, but he loved people and always tried to help them in any way he could. As a friend, he was completely loyal and devoted. He did not wallow in self pity about the things he could not do, but rather focused on what he could accomplish and took pride in a job well done. Jared had a sharp mind and was always a dedicated student. For medical reasons, he was only able to attend public school through the 5thgrade, at Christie Elementary School in Plano. Jared was educated at home from grades 6-12. Upon graduation in 2012, he immediately enrolled at Collin College where he has studied the past 3 years, proudly earning a place on the Dean's List for the fall 2014semester. He had planned to transfer to Texas A&M this fall and pursue a degree in Sociology. In spite of his physical limitations, Jared was a very special person and he found many ways to excel. His patience and attention to detail allowed him to complete dozens of complex 3D puzzles. He also loved to write short stories and was an avid reader, but his true love was cooking. Because of his heart, Jared's diet was restricted in many ways, but he learned to improvise and devised a new way of food preparation using fresh ingredients and seasonings without added salt or fat. Through trial and error he continued to perfect his skills and was soon able to cook just about any dish he wanted without compromising the least bit on flavor, but he believed there was always room for improvement and spent countless hours watching his Food Network heroes (especially Bobby Flay)searching for new ideas and ways to sharpen his technique. It was Jared's dream to become a great chef and it gave him tremendous joy and a sense of accomplishment to be able to cook for himself and those he loved. The last year of Jared's life was plagued by multiple chronic ailments and infections causing him extreme pain and 8hospitalizations. This sweet, fragile little man endured more than anyone should have to bear in his last month of life, yet he never once gave up hope. He was wholeheartedly focused on coming home again and returning to his simple life and the family that he loved. He fought so bravely despite impossible odds and somehow still found the will to smile. On Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2015 Jared's heavenly father decided to end his struggle and free him from pain once and for all by bringing him home forever. During his short time in this world it is amazing to think of how many lives he touched. I don't think anyone who ever knew Jared could ever forget him or fail to be inspired by him. His eyes were always bright and hopeful and he looked forward to each new day. His life was simple, but it was the simple things that often made him smile. As a son, Jared was the most wonderful and miraculous blessing any parent could ever have imagined, and I thank God every day that he allowed me to be his mother and to share his life. There are no words to describe how much I miss him. For the rest of my life he will live in my heart, until we meet again. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Pope City Cemetery in Woodlawn, Texas.
