Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Holcomb was born March 27, 1936 and passed away March 19, 2015. She was born in Tyler, Texas and was the youngest of 7 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles K. Holcomb, her parents, Robert Raymond Scruggs and Rebecca Elizabeth Woolverton Scruggs and 5 siblings Lou Butcher, Mary Stryjewski, R.O. Scruggs, Charlcye Washburn and Burmah Phillips. She is survived by her brother, Bernie Scruggs, her children, Charlzann Holcomb Mitchell and her husband Richard, Bob Holcomb and his wife April and son Jayce, her grandchildren Matt Mitchell, Zach Mitchell and his wife Jesse, and great grandchildren, Sophia Marie Mitchell, Bella Rae Mitchell and Jack David Mitchell.
Beth was a very kind and generous woman who loved the Lord and gave her time and talents to help others. She loved a group of women at Hunter's Glen Baptist Church called the Golden Girls. The Golden Girls are a group of ladies that joined together to enjoy the company of each other in their later years. She had an extended family that included all the employees at the Plano Sewing Center and the Plano Black Eyed Pea.
She was a person that thought that giving to others was an important part of life. To honor her and how she approached life, please donate to a church or charity of your choice or to an organization that is close to her family - such as Hunter's Glen Golden Girls, North Texas Food Bank, Union Gospel Mission and Greyhound Adoption League of Texas.
A memorial service to honor Beth's life will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Hunter's Glen Baptist Church, 4001 Custer Rd., Plano, Texas 75023.
