After a courageous battle, Bill passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, from complications related to COPD. Bill was born on January 18, 1936, the only child of Vernon and Grace Hodges. He grew up in Gatesville, Texas. Bill's career was centered in Odessa, Texas, where he was in oilfield sales. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish. One of his favorite memories was the day he went salmon fishing in Alaska. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends and family. He was also quite the joke teller. Bill never met a stranger - he could strike up a conversation with anyone. After retiring to the Ruidoso, New Mexico area, he enjoyed going to the casino to try his luck against the slot machines. You could also spot him diligently patrolling the campgrounds - with his dog riding shotgun, hanging out the passenger window.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughter Cheryl and her husband Michael Faulkner; daughter Colleen Lutz; and grandchildren Chris Faulkner, Ashley Faulkner and Jeff Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Grace Hodges.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Angus Church of the Nazarene, near Bill and Linda's longtime home outside Ruidoso, New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bonita Park Camp and Conference Center New Event Center Fund, via http://www.bonitapark.com/pdfs/Memorial_Donations_Website_Form.pdf (please specify "New Event Center Fund") or to the charity of your choice
